Black History Month - Steffin Oghene (Class of 2000)

After departing Watson’s in 2000, Steffin Oghene has gone on to establish himself as a well-respected expert within the global hospitality and beverage industry.

During his career, he has focused on operations and consultancy within the hospitality sector before crossing into the spirits industry to assist in global brand development and product launches. Steffin has gained experience across many fields which took him to work with some of the world’s biggest brands. He has held national and international roles for various companies across sales, marketing, strategy and in senior management roles. He has extensive knowledge of the global market, most recently spending six years in the USA working within Pernod Ricard.

At the beginning of 2020, he moved to Mexico with his wife and two children where he works within the Tequila, Mezcal and Mexican Rum industry, where he has invested in and also developed craft brands. He assists on global export, product development and brand building within each of the ventures he is involved in.

There are many positives which he can share from his time attending Watson’s but one key thing learned that has supported his career over the years is the power of collaboration to achieve one's goals. Learning to trust, support one another, utilize each other’s strengths, network and be kind and thoughtful, have always had a positive impact throughout his career.
