Myreside Sports Village

The Myreside Sports Village is our plan to create a world-class, all-season, multi-sport hub with elite and recreational sport side-by-side.
Sport plays a vital role in the life of our school, with strong and growing participation in rugby, hockey and football. However, existing facilities limit the opportunities available to pupils throughout the year. With the support of the Watsonian community, we can enhance provision across these sports, support talented athletes and provide wider access for all.
The first phase of our development includes:
- A FIH Global Compliant floodlit Hockey Turf Pitch
- A FIFA and World Rugby Compliant floodlit artificial grass pitch for rugby, football, and other sports
- A hockey warm-up area and spectator spaces all to bring pupils, families, clubs, and the wider community together.
These facilities will allow training and matches to continue year-round even on the dreichest of Edinburgh days, and will provide a home not only for our pupils, but also for our Watsonian clubs and local sports groups.
And at Craiglockhart:
We are further refreshing our Cricket facilities, including new practice and boundary nets, scoreboard, and enhancements to team and spectator areas. These works will create a home for cricket excellence at our school, clubs, and wider community.
The Myreside Sports Village Campaign

Sport at Watson’s is legendary. With the support of our whole Watsonian community, and beyond, our success can only grow. We want to ask you to donate to not only transform Myreside but play your part in ensuring our sporting heritage continues and every pupil at Watson’s benefits from their own sporting journey.
Myreside Sports Village will go far beyond the world-class pitch facilities, it will create a space for everyone to learn the value of teamwork, try something new and forge friendships. It will be a space to bring clubs and communities together and enhance the facilities we can offer beyond Watson’s.
Every pound committed will elevate and impact sporting experiences for all. Please donate by following the link below or connect today to find out more on how you can get involved.
