Our Senior School Library spaces provide an engaging and positive change of learning environment for pupils.
Pupils may use the Libraries from before the start of the school day until 4.30pm. The Blair Library houses our Non-Fiction stock and has a suite of 20 iMac computers, inviting pupils to explore text based resources alongside a wide range of digital information and databases.
The adjoining Morrison Library contains our Fiction resources and aims to promote whole school literacy with its frequently updated stock of novels and short story anthologies to attract all levels of readership.
English classes from S1 to S3 are timetabled into the Library once a cycle where they can choose books, read or take part in book reviews or talks. A fully qualified Librarian oversees both these spaces with the help of a Library Assistant.
The separate Study Centre offers an opportunity for pupils to consolidate their knowledge in a quiet and purposeful atmosphere with help on hand from a Library Assistant. This area also houses a range of resources to support Study Skills, University Applications and Careers advice.
The Library Services Department also has an interactive website with news items, access to our whole school catalogue and reading lists for pupils and parents.
