Our Senior School Libraries provide a positive change of learning environment for pupils. Pupils may use the Libraries from before the start of the school day until 5pm. Their are two separate Libraries, the Blair-Morrison (non-fiction) Library and the Fiction Library. They are staffed by a full-time qualified Librarian.
The Fiction Library aims to promote whole school literacy with its frequently updated stock of novels and short story anthologies to attract all levels of readership. Our multimedia stock supports all abilities including gifted pupils and those receiving Support for Learning. English classes from S1 to S4 are timetabled into the Library where they can choose books, read or take part in book reviews or talks.
The Blair Morrison library covers curricular subjects, current affairs and leisure activities with a large multimedia stock. Pupils are encouraged to use the Blair Morrison Library for individual study and research. S6 pupils have a personal study area within the library, administered by a Study Supervisor, with access to laptop computers.
The Libraries also have an interactive website with news items, access to our catalogue and reading lists for pupils and parents.
