Held in the Art Department, the S3 Photography Club sees a group of around 15 students get creative with the camera, learning techniques like panning and double exposure to improve their ability to be innovative with artwork.
The club is essentially designed to work as an introduction to photography, where members are taught about the technical aspects of the camera. They are given access to School photography equipment, including single lens reflex cameras, and the Art Department’s very own photography studio.
The pupils are able to enter their work into national level competitions, as well as those on a smaller scale. The club can also be helpful in other areas of the curriculum; some students use their work from the club in their National 5 Art pieces, or as evidence for their DofE skill.
