The Allotment Club aims to show just how easy it is to produce organic vegetables. More importantly, that many of the skills required to get good results can be learned quickly and have the potential to last a lifetime.
Since 2008 we have been fortunate to have bumper harvests of a variety of vegetables, fruit and herbs. What we grow varies from year to year as we encourage our club members to decide what they would like to plant. Recently we have grown potatoes, carrots, broad beans, peas, rhubarb, strawberries, radishes, courgettes, fennel, Jerusalem artichokes, Spring onions, Brussels sprouts and Swiss chard! Our produce is used by the Catering Department in our school lunches. It is great that we can all benefit from the results.
