Watsonians James Heatly (Class of 2015) and Grace Reid (Class of 2014) both achieved great success at the Commonwealth Games.

James won bronze on the 1m springboard, making history by becoming the first Scottish diver to win a medal since 1958, when his grandfather, Sir Peter Heatly won gold in Cardiff.

Grace won gold, and is Scotland’s first ever female diving medal also on the 1m springboard.

To top off the incredible Watsonian performances at the Gold Coast, Sarah Wilson former pupil (2007) and current member of the PE Department umpired in the women's Hockey final between Australia and New Zealand.

We had 11 former pupils competing, officiating and taking on management roles at the Commonwealth Games which proved to be a huge success for Scotland.
