Girl playing hockeyGWC beat St George's 4-1 on penalties in the final of the East Knock Out Cup against St George's.

Mairi Drummond scored a well taken penalty corner to put GWC 1-0 up early in the game but it wasn't long before St George's equalised from open play. Watson's once again took the lead shortly before half time when Hazel Hall picked up a rebound and slotted it into the far corner of the goal.

An exciting second half saw a number of chances for both teams but only St George's converted from a penalty stroke. Despite a lot of pressure Watson's couldn't find the winner and the score was 2–2 after normal time and therefore the game had to be decided by penalty strokes. Goalkeeper Lizzie McAdam made two crucial saves and Hazel Hall, Moire MacKenzie, Mairi Drummond and Alex Wilson all scored to bring the trophy back to Watson's.
