Recently crowned World Champion rower Callum McBrierty (Class of 2010) returned to School last week.
Sadly Callum was not selected for the Olympic squad however, he made up for this when he won gold in the Men's Coxed Pair in Rotterdam towards the end of August.
Callum went out of his way to meet Rory Mainland (S3) who did a project on the World Champion in second year. He appeared at Rory's Physics class at the end of the day only to find that the teacher who his S6 tutor – Mr Ian Lawrie!
Callum then proceeded to the Boathouse to catch up with the current rowers and to pass on words of wisdom. Following his gold, Callum is determined to make to Olympic squad in 2020 and hopefully win gold as part of the ever dominant British Rowing Team.
