Yesterday, a large and enthusiatic crowd lent itself to a great atmosphere at the U18 Brewin Dolphin Scottish Schools Cup semi final under floodlights at Myreside last night.
On what was a blustery and at times wet evening Stewart's Melville College capitalised on their wind advantage early in the match, kicking an early penalty. However some good forward play allowed Matt Horsman (S6) to score an unconverted try for a 5–3 half time lead.
Turning round and with the wind behind them Watson's started to apply pressure and in the last fifteen minutes tries by Matt Poole, Michael Gillespie and Chris Cash (all S5) secured the win. Andrew McMillan (S6) converted two of the tries for a final score of 24–3.
This result means that Watson's will be represented in both the U16 and U18 finals which will take place next Saturday (26 November) on the Murrayfield international pitch.
The U16 match pitches our boys against Dollar Academy and kicks off at 4pm. The U18 match against Edinburgh Academy follows at 6pm.
All supporters are very welcome to go along to support the boys in what will be a magnificent experience for both teams.
