The band travelled to Dunoon last weekend for the last Major Championship of the season.

Jonathon Simpson (S5) got the weekend off to a glorious start on the Friday by taking fourth place in the Under 18 March, Strathspey and Reel competition in a world class field of nearly 40 competitors. He also gained fourth place in the Piobroch competition.

In the main event on the Saturday the juvenile drum corps beat world champions Robert Malcolm Memorial, though the band had to settle for 2nd place overall. The young novice juvenile band achieved the best result of the day when they won the Cowal Championship! Their drum corps was also first to complete another 'Grand Slam' of all five Major Championships.

These results meant that Watson's won the Champion of Champions title in the juvenile grade for bands and drumming for the fourth year in succession. The novice drummers also took top slot while the band finished in second place.
