Five of our pupils have just found out that they have been awarded prizes from professional bodies for achieving the top marks for the subjects in the SQA exams this summer.
Michael Brown (Class of 2014) and Mark Baker (S6) were awarded prizes by The Institute of Physics. These were for Michael obtaining the top mark in Advanced Higher (Revised) Physics, and for Mark gaining the joint top mark in Higher (Revised) Physics.
Suzie Neave (S6) won a prize from The Royal Scottish Society of Arts for obtaining top marks in Higher Technological Studies. This is the second year running one of our pupils has achieved this.
Katherine Aird (S6) was awarded The Scottish Association of Geography Teachers' prize for obtaining the top mark in Higher Geography.
Matthew Henderson (S6) was awarded the Society of Biology Scotland award for obtaining the top mark in Biology (Revised) Higher.
Melvyn Roffe, Principal, said, “We had some phenomenal results this year, and I am delighted that so many Watson's pupils have been recognised as amongst the very best in the country in these subject areas which are acknowledged by professional bodies. It is a tribute to their own abilities and hard work, the teaching they have benefited from here and our ethos that values success in all its many forms.”
