Sopranos and Altos rehearse for Bach Society ConcertThirty of our sopranos and altos from the Chamber Choir, Cantemus and Higher and Advanced Higher Music classes got the opportunity to be part of the final performance of the Edinburgh Bach Society’s centenary year.

The concert they took part in was of Bach's St. Matthew Passion and our girls performed the 'ripieno' chorus role on Saturday 26 March at St. Cuthbert's Church in Edinburgh, conducted by Mr Neil Mantle MBE.

Though only involved in the first movement, the girls gave a striking performance from the gallery and were praised by audience and Edinburgh Bach Society members for their singing. Many current pupils and former pupils were in the audience and a strong contingent of Watson's parents sang in the Bach Society choir. The tenor role of Judas was sung by Mr Steven Griffin.
