Pupis enjoy the facilities of The HubOn Friday 7 March, following our Founder's Day celebration, a simple ceremony took place in the Centre for Sport to dedicate the central space – The Hub – to the memory of Iain Brown, Director of Sport and much-missed colleague who served Watson's for 33 years. Iain sadly passed away in September last year but he is remembered with love and affection by so many, not only by those within the Watson's community.

His wife, Shona Brown was invited to unveil a plaque, which bears the following inscription:

This central space, 'The Hub’, was formally dedicated
on 7 March 2014 to the memory of
IAIN BROWN
‘BROON’
a much loved member of staff and Director of Sport
who served Watson’s for 33 years from 1980 to 2013

The Centre for Sport is his inspiration

The Centre for Sport was, indeed, Iain's inspiration and he was so proud of it as a facility and as a physical symbol of the high standards and sporting ethos he instilled in pupils and adults alike over many years.

Watson's sport will continue to live up to Iain's values, and his name and his inspiration will continue to be a presence.
