Three of the 27 national awards from Scotland’s leading science bodies were presented to Watson’s pupils at a ceremony at Our Dynamic Earth in November, in recognition of achieving the highest marks in Scotland in their SQA exams earlier this year.

Rachel Fox (Class of 2015) won the Royal Society of Chemistry award for Advanced Higher Chemistry (Revised), while the joint winner of the Institute of Physics award for Advanced Higher Physics (Revised) was Zoe Mack-Smith (Class of 2015).  The Royal Society of Biology award for the Biology (Revised) Higher was Rebecca Poon (S6).

In addition, Zoe Mack-Smith and Robbie Knight achieved the joint highest mark in the Advanced Higher Mathematics paper in the 2015 examinations, winning awards from the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.

Meanwhile, the Technology Teachers Association presented Design, Technology and Engineering awards to Katie Christie (S6) and Marisa Chisholm (S4) for their outstanding work last year, which put them both second out of all the pupils in Scotland.

Melvyn Roffe, Principal, said "I am delighted in all our pupils’ achievements in their examinations, and these awards show that our pupils are achieving the very best academic standards.  Doing well in any examination is something to be celebrated and the fact that our pupils had the best marks in some of Scotland's toughest exams is something we can all take pride in."
