Our Junior Boys' Quad – Struan Stewart, Alasdair Watson, Oliver Fenton and Blair Ketteringham – were the fastest Junior boat of the day, and the second fastest quad scull overall with a time of 9min 20sec.

In the double sculls, the GWC pairing of Struan Stewart and Alasdair Watson (both S5) finished second, only seven seconds behind the Scottish Champions from Clydesdale ARC on their home water.  Twenty seconds behind them, the U16 Boys’ crew of Oliver Fenton and Duncan Middlemiss (both S5) won the J16 event in just under 10 minutes.

The six boys also competed in single sculls in the First Division. James Stevenson finishing fastest with Struan Stewart eight seconds behind.

A larger squad will be travelling to Newcastle at the weekend to compete at the Tyne RC Long Distance Sculls' Race and Tyne United Small Boats' Head.
