Our Principal, Melvyn Roffe warmly welcomed today’s news, he said:
“We are absolutely delighted to learn that our pupils have delivered such a stellar set of results, which reflect how hard they have worked.
“Congratulations to everyone receiving results today, I hope you have the grades you aspired to achieve. Of course, the hard work continues whether you are returning to school, or heading on to further education or employment. We must always be ready for the next challenge.
“If today hasn't brought the success you'd hoped for, please do not be too disheartened. Exam results are never the end of the road, only one step along the way and the staff at school are on hand to give you all the support you need. There will be a way forward and we will find that way forward together.
“These results reflect the incredibly hard work of many people at Watson's. They also shine a light on our open policy towards examination presentations. Our pupils are encouraged to make their own choices about which subjects to sit and we do not block them from taking the examinations they want to take. That freedom is a vital part of who we are as a school and what we want for our pupils.
“Our staff, have – as always – gone above and beyond for our pupils. Our teaching staff have delivered demanding course programmes with imagination, flair and considerable thought for the learning needs of their pupils. And, our support staff ensure that our school operates seamlessly throughout the year which enables our pupils and teaching staff to succeed. I want to say a special thank you to you all for all that you do.”
