Six Golds from Scottish Schools' Athletics Championships

Saltire flag flyingAthletes from Watson's took six of the individual titles at the Scottish Schools' Athletics Championships.

As previously reported Natalie Robbins (S3) won the U15 Girls' Hammer competition the previous week. On the track, two golds were won by Ben Robbins (S5), in the U17 Boys' 200m and 400m, and Caitlin Arnott (S2) won the U15 Girls' 800m. Adam Hastings (S5) won the U17 Boys' Javelin and Jake Kerr (S5) won the U19 Boys' Discus.

Natalie added a silver in the U15 Girls' Shot Putt and Jake won a silver in the U19 Boys' Javelin. Seumas Thomson (S6) came second in the U19 Boys' 400m hurdles, while Josh Kerr (S4) gained silver in the U17 Boys' 1,500m.

Jake completed his ha ttrick of medals with a bronze in the U19 Boys' Hammer.

After this Championship Ben Robbins, Josh Kerr, Adam Hastings and Sandy Wilson (S4) were selected to represent Scotland U17 at the SIAB (Schools' International Athletic Board) International Track & Field event in Dublin in July.
