Scottish Schools’ Swimming Successes

GWC Swimmer racingAt the Scottish Schools’ Swimming Relay Championships, which were held at the Tollcross Pool in Glasgow, Watson’s pupils swam in all senior events and performed exceptionally well.

The S1 girls’ team – Kimberly MacKay, Jodie White, Katherine Fraser and Claire Hilton (all S1) – performed outstandingly, winning gold in both the 4x50m freestyle relay and the 4x50m medley relay. The S2 boys’ team – Calum Hilton, Calum Watkins, Rory McLeod and Daniel McGregor (all S2) – also performed particularly well, winning bronze in the 4x50m freestyle relay.

The Junior School was successful in the Under 12 freestyle relays with the boys’ team – Stuart Niblock, James Cruickshank, Charlie Kidd and Brodie Savage (all Primary 7) – swimming fantastically to win silver. The girls’ team – Katie MacCallum, Jennifer Arthur, Lucy McGregor and Caitlin Arnott (all Primary 7) – held on extremely well in an exciting finish, gaining a well-deserved bronze.
