The U18 Scottish indoor Hockey Champions 2014Both our senior hockey teams were playing at this year’s Scottish U18 Indoor Cup Finals at the Bell’s Sport Centre in Perth this weekend.

On Saturday the girls were in action. They won their group games beating Robert Gordon's 5–1 with Catriona McLellan, Lucy Clark, Marnie Davidson, and Eilidh Thomson, (all S6) and Mairi Shaw (S4) all scoring goals. In their 10–6 win over Jordanhill the scorers were: Marnie Davidson (three), Catriona McLellan (two), Mairi Shaw (two), Eilidh Thomson, Lucy Clark, and Katherine Holdgate (S4).

They played the winners of the other pool, Strathallan in the final. The score in the final was 3–1, with Katherine Holdgate, Catriona McLellan and Eilidh Thomson finding the back of the net again.

Not only were our girls scoring goals, our defence was strong all day and goalkeeper, Amy Allard-Dunbar and Lucy Gray (both S5) completed a strong team line-up.

The win made our girls Scottish U18 Indoor Champions for the second year in a row!

On Sunday it was the turn of our boys and they found themselves in a strong pool. They lost 4–3 to Menzieshill and 15–4 to Kelburne, and won against Granite City Wanderers 12–7. These results put our boys third in their pool, and so they didn’t make the finals.
