Sailors from sixteen schools competed on 14 June at Loch Earn for the Skandia Brown Cup. Racing consisted of two fleets: a Topper Class of 28 entries and a Handicap Class, a combination of single and double handed dinghies, also of 28 boats. Representing Watson's were Michael Gorzkowski (S4) sailing a Laser, Anna Gorzkowska (S2) in a Topper dinghy, and Mhairi Macdonald (P7) also in a Topper. Michael won the Handicap Class overall and Anna and Mhairi took 5th and 6th places respectively overall in the Topper Class. Their combined individual performances, in very difficult conditions, resulted in Olympic 'Star Class' sailor, Steve Mitchell presenting the Skandia Brown Cup to the Watson's team, for the first time in the School's history. Congratulations to Michael, Anna and Mhairi.
