Rowers Results Reward Hard Work

close up of boys rowingTwo George Watson's pupils attended the Great Britain final trials in July and were successful in being selected to represent Great Britain.

Sean Dixon (S6) was selected to row in the eight at the world championships in Beijing and his crew won the B final.

Murray Wilkojc (Class of 2007) was selected to row at The Coupe in Italy and his crew, a coxed four, won the gold medal on Saturday and the silver medal on Sunday.

At the National Rowing Championships of Great Britain the under 15 boys continued their excellent run of results. Andrew Holmes (S5) and Michael Walker (S4) winning gold in the under 15 double scull and Michael Walker, Callum McBrierty, Andrew Gilmore, Craig Mabon (all S4) and Ian Walker (S2) winning silver in the coxed quad.

Murray Wilkojc and Alistair Sarahs (guest) won the bronze medal in the junior double sculls, with coach Larry Syms winning silver in the lightweight event.
