Five of our Junior School pupils travelled to Craigielaw Golf Course on Thursday to take part in the U11 Loretto Golf Championships, won last year by Calum Pretty (now S1).
With an electronic scoreboard similar to those used at professional golf tournaments, the golfers were all very excited to see their names appear as they handed in their cards. There was a high standard of golf all round, with Watson's golfers to the fore. Bruno Davidson (P6) played some lovely shots but unfortunately was not placed, while Struan Reinink (P6), Emily Tait and Thomas Clark (both P7) carded the second best scores of the day in a tie for third place. Thomas was awarded the third place medal after a count back of the scores. Rory Cockburn (P6) tied for first place, and was awarded the title after another count back, meaning Watson's provided the U11 champion for the second year running.
