The Special Needs Assessment Profile (Charles Weedon and Gavin Reid, Hodder and Stoughton 2003) has been Highly Commended in the Times Educational Supplement/ National Association of Special Educational Needs annual Teaching and Learning Book Awards.
This package develops a new approach to identifying the ways in which different strands of difficulty may combine and overlap in a child. It relies less upon traditional psychometrics, and more upon drawing together and analysing what different people already know about a child - teachers and parents. The idea was born and developed here in Watson's, with support from the University of Edinburgh, over a number of years.
