A group of twenty-three Primary 7 pupils travelled to Broughton High School last week to take part in a French Drama competition, organised by the French Institute.
They had sacrificed their lunchtime breaks over several weeks to practise the play, an adaptation of Les Trois Mousquetaires, or The Three Musketeers as it is usually known.
On the day, they performed with enthusiasm and great fun. Their accent and confidence were highly praised by the jury. At the end of the performance, they were treated to lovely pains aux raisins and petits pains au chocolat! However, the biggest treat came later when they took the first prize. In the words of the pupils, it was “an interesting way of learning lots of new French sentences”, “hard work, but well worth it” and “a fantastic experience”.
