The Juvenile Band celebrate their win at the World Pipe Band Championships 2011The Juvenile band won the World Championships in Glasgow on Saturday for the fourth time in their history.

Against very high standard competition, they proved too strong for bands including Boghall & Bathgate and Dollar Academy. The win was made sweeter with the Juvenile drummers also claiming the top spot for the first time since 2007 giving them a total of five World Championship wins.

In a closely fought Novice competition, our youngsters finished ahead of 18 other bands, however they had to settle for second place, a single point behind the eventual winners Kintyre Schools. The Novice drummers finished third.

These results mean the bands head to the last championship at Cowal at the end of the first week of term with the possibility of winning three out of four Champion of Champion Titles.
