Novice Band competing at Scottish Championships 2012The Juvenile band won the first major championship of the season on Saturday when they were crowned Scottish Champions in Dumbarton. Their drummers won Best Drum Corps for the eleventh year in succession.

The Novice band had to settle for second place, after a strong performance from eventual winners Troon Boys' Brigade. The Novice drummers matched the Juvenile drummers by claiming the top slot.

Principal Gareth Edwards said of the wins, "It is very good to hear that George Watson's College Pipes and Drums are continuing to perform the way they left off at the end of last season. It looks as though this season could be as exciting as last. Well done to all those who competed."
