On Sports Day, Kirsty McKean (S1) jumped a remarkable 5.08m to beat her Mum’s record for the S1 competition, by 53cm. Mrs Lesley McKean (née Scott), now Director of Development at Watson’s, jumped 4.55m back in 1976 and her record had never been broken until her daughter jumped in this year’s competition.

Lesley said of Kirsty’s achievement, “I was thrilled that Kirsty broke my record, it was a very special moment and her three jumps in the competition were all further than she had ever jumped before. I hope that the new record will stand for a long time.”
