Phenomenal Day at Scottish Schools' Relay Championships

The U18 Boys at Grangemouth on the podium with their cupThe School enjoyed a phenomenal day at the Scottish Schools’ Athletics Association (SSAA) Relay Championships at Grangemouth Stadium on Saturday, winning an unprecedented seven out of the ten available gold medals, plus a silver and a bronze.

The gold medals were won in the following races: Primary boys and girls; U15 girls; U17 boys and girls; and U19 boys and girls. The U14 boys won silver, the U15 boys a bronze, while the U14 girls were fourth, following a photo finish.

Special mention to the U19 boys – Josif Grace, Seamus Thomson, Chris Kelly (all S6) and Cameron McMillan (S5) – who broke the GWC School relay record with a time of 44.27secs, and the U15 girls – Katie Donaldson, Caitlin Arnott, Robyn Coates, Ailsa Clark (all S2), who were awarded the Mildred Storrar trophy for the Best Performance on the day

This magnificent day of sporting achievement were rounded off with Natalie Robbins (S3) winning a gold in the U15 Hammer. The rest of the individual Championship events take place this Friday and Saturday.
