A record £4,580 was raised in the charity raffle and auction at the George Watson’s College Parents’ Association annual Summer Ball for DebRA UK on Saturday.
This charity is the national charity working on behalf of people with the genetic skin blistering condition, Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB). A small charity, it has gained wider recognition following the recent TV programme on Channel 4, The Boy Whose Skin Fell Off.
Currently there is only one nurse covering the whole of Scotland – from Dumfries to Orkney. The money raised is going to help finance a second nurse to support the sufferers of EB in Scotland.
