P6 singers win Forth One nativity competition

P6 singers win Forth One nativity competition

Published on 2 December 2019

We are delighted to announce that our P6 singers have been selected to appear in the Forth One Nativity this year.

Our pupils entered the competition with their version of the Watson’s classic, Camel Boogie Woogie. Their entry impressed the judges, winning them the opportunity to perform alongside Boogie in the Morning radio host, Arlene in a Nativity.

The Forth One Nativity is taking place in aid of the radio station’s charity, Cash for Kids, which supports disadvantaged children in local communities to fulfil their potential and live life to the fullest. During the festive season, the charity’s Mission Christmas campaign aims to make sure that every child has a gift to open on Christmas morning.

Izzie and Dharma (P6) suggested entering the competition after listening to the radio. Our pupils were delighted to find out that they would be performing, with one pupil saying: “I have to keep pinching myself to make sure it’s real!”

Katherine Edmonds, Class Music Teacher, said: “The Music Department at Watson’s is extremely excited about our group singing in the Forth One Nativity. Christmas is such a magical time of year and the opportunity to sing at this event to raise money for Cash for Kids is a great privilege.”

Our P6 singers will perform in the Nativity on Wednesday 18 December, at 6.30 pm at Mansfield Traquair.
