Not One, But Two Scottish Hockey Cups!

boys playing hockeyThe girls’ and boys’ sides both won the Scottish U18 Indoor Hockey Cups on Sunday 8 February in Perth.

The girls beat local rivals, Heriot’s, in a very exciting final. Blair Sprott scoring four of the seven goals in a match that ended with a 7−3 score line. The boys beat Inverleith 3−1 through goals by Fraser Sands, James Byers and Ali Jameson.

The competition is open to all school and club sides in Scotland and this is the first time George Watson's College has won either competition. Both sides qualified for the finals by winning the East Indoor Tournament and progressing through a further tournament against other regional winners.

This is shaping up to be another highly successful season for hockey at Watson's.
