George Salmond, Head of the Junior School, George Watson's CollegeFollowing a rigorous selection process which attracted applicants from Scotland, the rest of the UK and abroad, Mr George Salmond has been appointed as Head of the Junior School.

Well known to the Watson’s Family, George is a graduate of the Northern College of Education in Dundee. He joined George Watson’s College Junior School in 1995 as a Primary 5 class teacher and has developed his career through a variety of teaching and leadership roles at Watson's. Pupils, parents and staff would all agree that he exemplifies all that ex corde caritas (love from the heart) should mean.

Less known to some would be that George won 146 caps playing cricket for Scotland – 104 as captain – and until this year was a Grade One Referee officiating at over 50 Premier League matches and a Cup Final at Hampden Park. We hope he won’t need to resort to his referee’s whistle in his new job!
