Two boys playing hockeyOur hockey sides have had another excellent start to the season.

The girls’ 1st XI have won the Robert Gordon's Invitational tournament and are also through to the semi final of the East Knockout Cup. They now face Currie High in the next round. Also next term the girls will attempt to defend their Scottish Schools’ title at Peffermill on Thursday 11 March.

Mairi Drummond (S5) and Alex Wilson (S6) have been selected for the Scotland U18 squad as have Ailsa Small, Kirsten Peters and Emma Stephen (all S3) for the U16s.

The S3 A team has won all their matches this term and they hope to continue this good run of form until Easter.

The S2 girls have also had an exceptional term. Their A, B, C and D teams all remain unbeaten. The A side has won every match played.

The S1 A team have lost only twice, whilst the B and C teams remain unbeaten.

The boys’ 1st XI have won all their matches so far including three indoor tournaments. The big test however will lie ahead next term as the side aim to retain the Scottish Schools’ title and they face a very tough Strathallan team in the first round. They will also compete in the East district indoor tournament on 12 January, followed by the Scottish Under U18 indoor competition in Perth on 17 January.

Fraser Sands, Matt Connor (Both S6), Peter Brown, Duncan Riddell and Jake Hibbert (all S5) have all been selected to train with the Scotland U18 squad; and Danny Cain (S3) and Phil Bryans (S2) have been selected for Scotland U16.
