Meg Turner (S2) is through to the final of the Individual Category of the HSBC/British Council Chinese Speaking Competition, due to take place at the British Museum in London on 4 March.

She will be competing against over 90 other pupils from schools across the UK to win one of ten places on a cultural trip to Beijing this Easter.

Now in its seventh year, the competition this year attracted a record number of learners eager to prove their Chinese skills with 300 pupils applying and taking part in X-Factor style regional heats in London and Newcastle.
