Medals Galore at Scottish Diving Championships

GalleonThe Scottish National and Open Diving Championships took place at the Royal Commonwealth Pool this weekend. All four GWC pupils who competed and who dive with the Edinburgh Diving Club won medals and performed well against quality opposition.

Toby Harris (S6) won three gold medals at National Senior level. S4 pupil, Laura Smith won a silver medal and a bronze at National Junior level. Grace Reid (S1) who is hoping to dive at the London Olympics in 2012, won three golds and three silver at National Senior, National Junior and Open levels. While James Heatly (P7) won a gold, three silver and a bronze at both Senior and Junior level.

Mr Gareth Edwards, Principal, said, “I am delighted that Watson's pupils did so well in these Championships and I congratulate them all on their achievements. I take my hat off to those who can launch themselves off a one-metre board, let alone anything higher!”
