Harry Carruthers, Andrew Greenshields, Dewar Wright (all S1) and Alasdair Sandland (P7), won gold in the Scottish Minors’ race team event at the Scottish Schools’ Ski Association races at Midlothian Snowsports’ Centre on Sunday. Dewar also won bronze in the individual category.
Jemma Clarke, Louise Sandland (both P6), and Alannah Lawrie (S1) won silver in their Scottish Minors’ race team event. While Alannah came first in the individual category, winning gold. This followed on from the girls’ successes in the LSRA Bairns & Lassies Race on Sunday 18 September. There they had won the team event against stiff opposition from other Scottish schools. At that event in the individual competitions, Louise won gold, while Alannah and Jemma won silver in their age categories.
Dewar and Alannah both skied well at the British Dry Slope Ski Championships the following weekend at the Midlothian Snowsports' Centre. In the Children 1 age category Dewar won gold in the slalom and both Alannah and Dewar won silver in their giant slalom races.
