Lively Evening at the RSCDS Country Dance Ball

Lively Evening at the RSCDS Country Dance Ball

Published on 25 March 2019

Sixteen members of the Junior School Country Dance Club enjoyed a lively evening at the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society Country Dance Ball on Friday.

The club members have worked with great dedication all year to master the language and diagrams of Scottish Country Dance elements and many of them have also enjoyed taking on the teaching role in explaining each new dance, to ensure that everyone was fully skilled.

Among the 14 dances on the programme this year were two written by our own pupils, the Apple Core Reel and the JELC Reel. Two other new dances authored by our members for this year's competition also received a mention and will hopefully appear in a book of new dances to be published shortly.

Next term, as usual, we will welcome the Primary 3s to the club. The current members are thoroughly looking forward to taking the lead in teaching them all that they need to know for our own mini-ball in June.
