The trophy that was won for the third time in successionThe Pipes & Drums enjoyed a successful trip to Glasgow on Friday night. The band won the coveted 'Highland Shield' for school bands for the third year in succession. It was particularly pleasing to note that nearly half the band members were competing in this event for the first time!

Our solo pipers and drummers also enjoyed success with Finlay Aitken (S2) winning the Junior Drumming Event, Louis Bendle (S4) runner up in the Senior Drumming, and Alastair Hutcheon (S4) runner up in the Senior Piping competition. There were also prizes for Cameron Rhodes (S5). Robert Dick (S3), Rory Aitchison (S2), and James Strachan (S1).

All three bands will be in action at the Lothian & Borders Mini Band and Solo competition on Saturday 29 March.
