Four junior debaters have qualified for the National Finals of the Oxford University Debating Competition. After a tough day of debates at Madras College, St Andrews on Saturday where they spoke on voting restrictions, violent sports, and the war in Afghanistan, the top seven teams in the country were invited to represent Scotland at the UK-wide tournament in May.
It is the first time that pupils from George Watson's have qualified for the final stages. David Wolffe (S3) and Dan Roberts (S2), and Max Wolffe and Armin Amirsolimani (both S1) will represent us. It is particularly impressive that Max and Armin qualified, as this was their first competition together.
The Finals will take place at Oxford University on 15 May.
