Our school’s constituency MP, Joanna Cherry, has commended George Watson’s College our charitable work and community focus during a BBC debate hosted by Jonathan Dimbleby.
During a debate on the issue of ‘State vs Independent Schools’, she said: "George Watson’s really takes its charitable status seriously, has many scholarships available and tries to put something back into the local community. That is what independent schools should be doing.”
The debate was held at Heathfield School in Ascot Berkshire and featured Joanna Cherry MP, Historian Max Hastings, former leader of the Conservative Party Lord Howard, and the Shadow Brexit Secretary Keir Starmer MP.
