U18 girls in the East of Scotland winning teamWatson's pupils were well represented in the East District teams playing in the National District Competitions held over the weekend at the newly opened Commonwealth Games pitches in Glasgow.

At U18 level Catriona McLellan, Marnie Davidson and Eilidh Thomson (all S6) and Lucy Gray (S5) were part of the winning team. East won the tournament after defeating all five of the other districts – South, North, South West, West and Midlands – with Eilidh Thomson and Catriona McLellan scoring one goal each.

The U16 girls – Cara McNaughton, Katherine Holdgate, and Claire Hilton (all S4), Katie MacCallum (S3) and Alexandra Hunter (S2) – went in to their last game needing only a draw or win to lift the trophy. Unfortunately, they failed to match their counterparts from the West and the match finished 0–2. East finished runner-ups to West, with Katherine Holdgate and Claire Hilton each scoring a goal to add to the teams 17 goal tally.
