In October 2003, our pupils visited the Scottish Parliament to help launch the a new section of the Citizenship Foundation’s National Youth Parliament Competition, the Holyrood Model.
On 17 June, Matthew MacPherson (4TJ) and Louise Cullum (4RT) will be returning to the Parliament to receive awards for their performance in the Competition. The pupils will have an opportunity to watch First Minister’s Questions from the Gallery, before entering the Chamber for the Prizegiving hosted by the Presiding Officer.
Louise is to be commended for speaking passionately and engagingly on the issues associated with the Youth Crime and Justice (Scotland) Bill 2004. Matthew was judged the Best First Minister, and it is hoped that he will receive his award from Jack McConnell himself!
