GWC Quad at Scottish Schools' Head September 2013George Watson's College was the most successful School at the Scottish Schools' Head of the Canal Races at the weekend, once again.

Our rowers won the Peter Grieve Memorial School Team Trophy – the Victor Ludorum for the Scottish Schools' Head of the Canal – having won three and being placed second in the other of the four boys' events. The wins came at U14, U16 and U18 level.

Our U18 boys' crew was the fastest boat of the day by a considerable margin, beating not only the other Schools but also all crews competing in the later Open event for clubs.

The U14 boys' quad were third fastest boat in the Open clubs' event, winning their age category easily, beaten only by two U18 crews.

Our J16 British Champions' crew won their Schools’ event and finished second in the Open U16 event by a mere two seconds, in spite of completing the course without steering, having lost their rudder at the start.
