The Pipes and Drums of George Watson's College provided a rousing finale to the launch of the King's Theatre centenary celebrations. In front of an audience including Lord Provost Lesley Hinds, Green MSP Robin Harper and actress Una McLean, the band appeared in the finale following an excellent arrangement of Auld Lang Syne which had been written by Iain Johnstone of Wee Stories Theatre Company. Marching into the auditorium towards the audience who were on the stage, they played Scotland the Brave and Highland Laddie. Then Kelsey's wee reel followed by No awa' t' bide awa' provided a nostalgic and patriotic ending to the evening.
