Close up on the oar - girls' quadCastle Semple is Scotland’s largest one day Regatta. With entries from all over Scotland, it provides stiff competition for all crews.  This year Watson’s sent a full beginner squad and novice squad along with the seniors to compete. They did not disappoint.

Watson’s dominated the junior quads with wins in the J18, J16, J14 and J13 quads for the boys.  The girls’ squad won the J16 quads and teamed up with St Andrew Boat Club for a win in the women’s open quad.  The senior boys’ novice four also outclassed their field to win comfortably.

In the small boats Katy McDonald (S6), along with her partner Laura, won the WJ18 and open double scull.  Rory Mainland (S1) was the fastest J12 single.

Watson’s also placed second in both J18 pairs, the women’s J18 double, women’s J13 and J15 single and the WJ15 quad.

With the Scottish Championships in two weeks time, this proved a good test of speed against the rest of the country.
