Jodie and Rebecca with the magnificent cupRebecca Poon and Jodie White (both S6) won the the English-Speaking Union Scotland's Schools' Mace, Scotland's most prestigious debating competition.

Over 150 schools across Scotland took part in the competition, which began back in September, and culminated in the final at the end of March, in which the girls took on The High School of Dundee on the motion 'This House regrets Apple's decision not to co-operate with the FBI'.

This is the sixth trophy of the year for Watson's debaters, and the girls will hope to add one more as they represent Scotland against the English, Welsh and Irish champions next weekend in the UK Grand Final. It is a fitting finale for the girls, who – along with Keshav Arvind in S6 - have taken Watson's debating to a new level.

On the following weekend, Adam Mallis and Ben Stanley (both S3) will take part in the UK Finals for junior debaters.
