Girls are Scottish Champions

The winning team celebrate Our 1st XI came home from the Scottish Schools' Cup Finals at Peffermill on Thursday 8 March as Scottish Champions. This is the second year in a row and the fourth time in six years that Watson's girls have been crowned Scottish Champions.

They finished top of our section by beating Kelso High School 2–0, with goals from Anna Bryans and Felicity Johnson (both S6); St Columba's School 6–0, with Hannah Cockburn (S6), Kirsten Peters (S5) and Anna Bryans all scoring two goals each; and Gordonstoun School 6–0, this time Hannah Cockburn scored three times, Felicity Johnson twice and Anna Bryans once.

In semi final as single goal from Hannah Cockburn was enough to beat the High School of Glasgow 1–0. Taking Watson’s to the finals against Mary Erskine’s School who had beaten us in the East District Knockout Cup only a few weeks before. Another goal from captain Hannah Cockburn and a 1–0 score line won the championships for GWC.

It was a great team performance from all the girls.
