The first XI girls hockey team have been crowned winners of the East District Tournament.

The girls had a very successful day, playing seven games of hockey, winning all seven, scoring 15 goals and conceding only one.

The competition started in pools and the girls won all five of their matches to finish top of their pool. They then played Mary Erskine's in the semi-final, beating them 2-1 with goals from Milly Wood and Lucy Hogarth (both S6).

In the final they faced Heriot's. It was a close game – the score stood at 0-0 at half time – but a superb goal from captain Lucy Hogarth gave the girls a 1-0 victory!

The team plays Dundee High on Tuesday 14 November away in the next round of the Scottish Cup.
