Feeling Good

Feeling Good

Published on 5 February 2018

Fancy free bananas at breaktime, walking an alpaca, or trying out a Bollywood dance class? Since the start of the month an entire programme of both exhilarating and restorative activities has been taking place throughout the School.

Feel Good February aims to promote mental wellbeing during a stressful time in the School calendar for us pupils. Every day this week, pupils (and staff!) can take part in a one mile run to start the morning off right, as well as less strenuous activities, such as journaling and mindful colouring sessions every lunchtime, or making a self-care shoebox.

For animal lovers, we will not only have the Therapets dogs visiting us, but our S1–S3 pupils even have the opportunity to walk an alpaca! We are not only aiming to promote our own wellbeing this week, but also that of others. S6 pupils will be welcoming elderly members of our community for some tea and dancing, and we can all get involved in initiatives such as Smalls for All which sorts and sends underwear and friendship bands to children in Malawi.

With such a great variety of events and activities which everyone can get involved in, it is looking like it is going to be a great, feel good week.
