Boys' swimming team with medalsThe Junior School sent a team of 16 girls and eight boys to the Edinburgh Schools Swimming Championships, entered in both individual events and in the freestyle relays, with every member of the team swimming in a relay team.

Everyone involved performed well, swimming as hard as they could in their individual races, and competing well for each other in the relays. All were a credit to Watson's.

Girls' swimming team with medalsThe highlights of the day were individual medals for Brodie Savage and Stuart Niblock (both P7). Brodie won gold in the 50m breaststroke, a fantastic swim, and also gained a bronze medal in the 50m freestyle. Stuart swam an excellent 50m butterfly, stroke for stroke down the final 25m, just missing out on a gold but gaining a well earned silver medal. The 'A' boys' freestyle relay team of Brodie Savage, James Cruickshank, Stuart Niblock and Charlie Kidd (all P7) swam really well to win gold and take the Edinburgh Schools' title. A very strong St George's team won the girls' relay, but the GWC 'A' team of Katie MacCallum, Jennifer Arthur, Hannah Knowles and Caitlin Arnott (all P7) came in a comfortable second for a well deserved silver.

Well done to all concerned.
